CEEA-ACEG Institute for Engineering Education Research presents:

Introduction to Designing an

Engineering Education Research Study

WHAT: This two-part webinar series gives participants a high level overview of the knowledge required to design research studies in engineering education.

The workshops cover several aspects of the research process.

Part 1 will focus on the history of the field of engineering education research, an overview of the steps in designing engineering education research studies, and how to develop research questions.

Part 2 takes these research questions and delves into the role of knowledge traditions in the research process, and how to align your research with a theoretical framework. During the sessions, we’ll also explore the opportunities, challenges and responsibilities in conducting research while many students are participating in remote learning.

The workshop format starts with an overview of the content, and then additional time will be provided at the end for breakout and discussions. Facilitators will be available to give attendees support on their specific areas of research interest.

We highly recommend you attend both Part 1 and Part 2, however you are welcome to join for what you can.

WHEN: July 15 & 16, 12:00-1:30PM CDT

COST: This workshop is free for anyone to attend.

WHO: This workshop is targeted towards faculty members who are just getting started in doing educational research, but it is open to everyone, including faculty members looking for a refresher, and graduate students studying in the area.
